Common Council Vote on 100% Renewable Goal
March 21 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
The City of Madison is considering adopting a goal of 100% renewable energy for city operations. The resolution will be voted on by Madison’s Common Council at their meeting on March 21st. The meeting begins at 6:30pm and is in room 201 of the City-County building.
This is subject to change depending on what happens at the Water Utility Board meeting on 2/23 and the Board of Estimates meeting on 3/13.
The resolution calls for a plan to be developed over the next year for how the city can meet this goal for its own energy use (electricity, heating, and transportation). This resolution is one element of the Energy Work Plan approved by the City in 2016.
